The seminars are at 7:00 P.M. A $6.00 fee per car at the gate will be the only cost to you unless you have a annual pass.
Subject: The life of a large moutn bass. Fifth in a series - Summer Patterns.
FISHING REPORT:
LARGE MOUTH BASS: Surface to 40' depending on time of day. Spawning bass are in 2 to 20 feet of water depending on clearity of water. Check your electronics. Thermocline runs about 24'. Day time dropshot, splitshot, Carolina and Texas rigs are good around trees on main lake points. Use crank baits and jerk baits over flats. Spoons in 40 feet of water in channels. Humbug, Castle Creek, Coles, first and secondary points pre-spawn and post-spawn bass are coming and going for the next two months.
CRAPPIE: Crappie are spawning in 5 to 10 feet of water in schools of 7 to 10 fish.
CAT FISH: use cut shad, night crawlers, chicken liver, from 10' to 30' of water in creek channels all over the lake.
STRIPPED BASS: Trolling crank baits or spoons are good. Drift live shad and/or anchovies near or around channels. Also using down riggers works. (Control depth fishing.)
Watch your surroundings, the active birds tell you when the bite is on. Larger stripped bass are running from 15 to 50 feet in the early morning, and in the evening they may be caught in 15 feet of water or less.
Remember stay hydrated drink plenty of water. Beer will make you dehydrated, even one beer is one beer too many during any outing in Arizona any time of year.
